In celebration of Nutrition Month and to address the malnutrition in barangay Siari, the team adopted the production of homemade supplemental food to target both activities. This activity was made possible in collaboration with the barangay Siari council wherein they provided the fund needed for the production of homemade supplemental food.

This supplemental food contains peanut, moringa powder, milk, sugar, and vegetable oil. Based on the research where this was adopted, an increase in the body weight can already be observed even at the first week of administration. The team was able to produce a total of ____ for the 13 identified malnourished children. The initial weight and mid upper arm circumference (MUAC) was recorded for comparison after the intervention. The mothers were informed about the objective of the intervention as well as its ingredients. Instructions on how to prepare and store the supplemental food was also presented to the mothers. The mothers were also told that if their child experiences some adverse reactions such as diarrhea, abdominal pains, vomiting, difficulty of breathing, rashes, or facial swelling, the feeding of supplemental food must be stopped and inform these issues to the barangay nutrition scholar or to the barangay nurse. It was also emphasized that the supplemental food must only be given to the malnourished child in order to observe its maximum effect.
